Recently we did a major renovation project on our 1928 home. In addition to the renovations, we had the basement area finished into living space. Chris Boxwell did all of the work for us and we were very happy with the entire experience.

Chris is excellent at determining the steps that need to take place on a project, outlining the costs, and completing the work in a timely and cost effective manner. He is a pleasure to work with and is extremely trustworthy. I was very comfortable with Chris's workers coming into our home.

This is to inform anyone that is considering working with Chris Boxwell Contracting of the experience I have had with him.

Chris is very efficient and time conscious. The job was completed in a timely manner. During the course of the job Chris kept me updated on all phases of the job and always conferred with me if there was an area where owner input was needed before proceeding. The subs were in and out on schedule. Explanation was given regarding why things were done such as to meet code, etc.

One thing that I really appreciated was the accessibility to Chris through answered phone calls or if unable to answer I always received a prompt response to my messages or e-mails.

I had a second bid and found that Chris' bid was fair and competitive and am very pleased that I chose Chris and highly recommend him to anyone else desiring an honest, efficient, quality contractor to work with.

We recently added a room on to our home and we hired Chris Boxwell as our contractor. Chris provided quality workmanship and always proved to be reliable. Chris was very responsive to questions or concerns and got back to us immediately. He was prompt and we could always depend on him to meet our goals and deadlines.

We were very happy with our new addition. It was exactly what we had wanted. We were so pleased with it that we hired Chris to redo the siding on or house. He will be the contractor that we hire in the future and the one we recommend to all of our friends and family.

No one will tell you that remodeling is easy because it isn't, but you can do yourself a big favor and hire Chris Boxwell for your remodel. Chris promises a lot and then he delivers! He told me the work would be completed in one month, something that a couple of other contractors actually laughed at. It was done in one month, just as he promised, in spite of a snowstorm and the flu. His price was very fair, especially considering the superior craftsmanship of the work. He had a number of suggestions I had not considered and every one of these turned out to be excellent. My friends were amazed that I could get a hold of him easily; apparently that is highly unusual for a contractor. But I rarely had to get a hold of him because he called me on a daily basis to give me a progress report, not to mention soothe me when I felt frazzled. Constant communication is a wonderful thing in a contractor. All of his subcontractors were equally professional and a pleasure to deal with. Chris Boxwell is simply top notch in every way...I couldn't be happier with my new home!

Working with Chris was a great experience....all thru the process, from the original quote thru to the completion of the project. Quotes were very clear, all responses and work were extremely timely, work site mess and disturbance to my living space was minimal, the process was very collaborative (good ideas considered, with decisions made to produce the best outcome), with work completed with wonderful results. At the end of April 2007 we hired Chris Boxwell to remodel our laundry room, family room and kitchen. Chris quoted us that the remodel would take 6 weeks and by June 15th we were moving into our new updated home. The experience was well worth any inconvenience because our home is now so beautiful.

Chris possesses many quality traits that made our remodel as pleasant as possible. Chris took on the full burden of meeting deadlines and made sure his subcontractors were on the job site and performing their various tasks. Chris’ subcontractors were on time and did superior work. I felt very safe having them in my home and was able to run errands while the subcontractors were finishing up their work unsupervised. Chris kept in constant communication with us and we were able to contact him at anytime to discuss the work in progress. Chris also stayed in contact with us after the remodel to make sure that everything was taken care of and that we were pleased.

I highly recommend Chris if you want to increase the value of your home and enjoy all the new amenities and beauty that a modern and updated house provides.

My husband and I were hesitant and ignorant about taking on a remodeling project. However, after the completion of our two bathrooms we credit Chris Boxwell, our contractor, for the outstanding service and results we experienced. Chris was one of four contractors that came to our house to give us a bid on remodeling both of the bathrooms in our 1948 home. His enthusiasm for his profession was apparent from our first meeting. Chris was personable, energetic and stressed his belief in the importance of timely and thorough communication. He was knowledgeable on everything from the details of permits to the actual construction of the bathrooms.

The original estimate we were given was competitive, and like promised our final bill was not over the initial quote. Workers arrived on schedule, and if there was ever any hold up Chris would call to inform me of the situation. Every time he scheduled a meeting he was there not just on time, but early. He made sure that the process flowed as smoothly as humanly possible. He was incredibly patient with my endless questions, phone calls and late night e-mails. We could always count on Chris to keep us informed as well as to respond without delay.

Our remodel completely transformed the look of both of our bathrooms and it all turned out beautifully. Chris often shared creative ideas, and his suggestions had a positive impact on the end results. We love our bathrooms, and just as importantly, we cherished the level of care and service we received from working with Chris Boxwell. We would highly recommend working with Chris to anyone who is considering his company.

Chris did a remodel on out house in Southwest Portland this summer and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone! He was recommended to us and I owe that person a big “thank you”.

He is the consummate professional and yet he is very easy to communicate with. He listens to what you want to accomplish and responds with ideas of how to accomplish it. We did change and add a few things throughout the process and he was more then patient with us. No detail was too small for Chris and we felt that we were certainly in “Good hands”. He suggested ways that we could save money because we were on a limited budget and we certainly appreciated it. We could count on a call from Chris every morning to tell us what work was planned for that day and also a call at the end of the day to let us know exactly what had been done.

Chris was recommended by a neighbor of mine whose kitchen he had renovated. We needed an additional room built and hired Chris to help us out. I was very impressed by his timeliness, communication, professionalism, and customer orientation. Chris was very willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs. His bid was also very competitive compared to other bids that we invited. Chris is great at communication and is very flexible to client needs and easy to work with. Our project finished in about 6 weeks, a week or two ahead of schedule. If anything was missed or not done to our satisfaction, Chris was very good about taking care of it. Likewise any damage that occurred due to the construction, Chris made sure that it was repaired to our satisfaction. If in the future I have a need to hire a general contractor, I can say without hesitation that I would be hiring Chris.

Your workers did quality work, with you inspecting and overseeing every step of the way. I really appreciated your regular emails keeping me updated on the work and schedule. I think you were more concerned about completing this project on time than I was.

Even though this house is 20 years old, it doesn’t feel like the basement was just an add-on. It blends in perfectly with the rest of the house.

I felt I could trust you from the very beginning, and would recommend you to anyone. Your professionalism and attention to detail was much appreciated. I felt the price was fair, and I got my money’s worth.
